Iron Horse Ultra 100
The Iron Horse Ultra will take place October 2–3, 2026, in St. Paul, Alberta, bringing endurance athletes to the Lakeland region for a challenging trail running experience. The event is part of the Alberta Ultra Series and is known for testing runners across long distances and rugged terrain.
Participants can compete in distances ranging from 60 km to 100 km or the full 100-mile ultra, either running solo or as part of a relay team. The course takes runners across a diverse landscape that includes old rail beds, gravel roads, single-track trails, farm fields, and forested areas throughout the County of St. Paul.
Designed as a true endurance challenge, the event requires preparation and self-sufficiency, with runners navigating remote sections of trail while being supported by volunteers and aid stations along the route. The Iron Horse Ultra continues to draw participants from across the region who come to test their limits while experiencing the natural beauty of Northern Alberta’s Lakeland area.
