Parks Day Challenge Friday, July 19 @ 4:00pm until Sunday, July 21 @ 1:00pm Big Island of Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park

  • Pick up booklet at the Campground Store or from Park Interpreter during another program
  • Take on this island scavenger hunt challenge and discover some new spots around the island and learn some interesting facts!
  • Once you complete your booklet, you can bring it to the Campground Store during regular hours for a prize!
Parks Day Celebration Saturday, July 20: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Campground Amphitheatre
  • Park Interpreters will be showcasing the importance of bugs & birds in the Park and the important work they carry out as pollinators. Even try your hand at catching some bugs, or spotting some birds, and see if you can identify them! Then, create a keepsake to capture your visit to Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park or favourite part of the program.
  • Plus, learn about Bear Safety & Awareness from local Conservation Officers!

  • Join a Park Interpreter and learn all the Bear Essentials you need to know when camping and recreating in Alberta Parks this season!
  • Plus: see what kind of track can you paint - what animal would your track be like?
Boreal Forest Photo Walk Sunday, July 21: 2:00pm—4:00pm Starting from Deck behind Amphitheatre (Loop C)
  • Whether you are looking for sweeping vistas or prefer to focus on the macro details, this 5km guided hike provides time to capture those magical moments and compose the perfect shot along some trails you may not have hiked in the park.
  • No minimum skill level or camera quality required. All photographers (especially the aspiring) welcome. This program is not wheelchair or stroller accessible.

Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for takeoff!!! The air show is here in Cold Lake, with gravity-defying stunts and spectacular aerial displays that will leave you in awe!
