Métis Ribbon Skirt or Ribbon Pants Workshop

Métis Crossing is hosting a Métis Ribbon Skirt or Ribbon Pants Workshop on November 28 and 29, 2026, led by Métis Elder and Knowledge Holder Lilyrose Meyers.

Designed for participants with basic sewing skills, this two-day workshop explores different waist styles, pockets, appliqué and other sewing techniques. Participants will also learn about the history and cultural significance of Métis ribbon skirts while creating their own personalized garment.

Fabric, ribbons, thread and other supplies are included, along with coffee, tea and snacks. Participants must bring their own sewing machine.
