Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Prairies/NWT TELUS Tour for the Cure is on a mission; a mission to create a future without breast cancer.The Tour will travel to 16 communities across Alberta this summer informing women and men about risk reduction, early detection and overall breast health.The Tour launch was in Edmonton on May 21, coming to a close on September 28 in Calgary.The Tour is brought to Albertans in partnership with TELUS, the Government of Alberta and supporting sponsor, Canada Safeway. Pink is more than the color of the cause. Pink represents all the knowledge gained and information collected at the exhibit.With that knowledge, people are encouraged to take action, and influence those they love to do the same. A pink megaphone and sound waves are the symbols for the Tour, representing engaging people through communication. Passing on the information they have learned. Pink Promises will be collected in each community, with a running tally shown on screen. Each city also has its own visual sound wave for its total Pink Promises depicted on screen. These sound waves will build together into one final sound wave, at the conclusion of the Tour, symbolizing Albertans uniting to create a future without breast cancer. The Tour exhibit is an interactive kiosk to make a Pink Promise, take a Myth-busters quiz, sign up for a Run. There is also empowering information, information resources and collectible buttons.
